Barrera-Søndergaard

Yes! This guy is me ☝️

When I was a child, my mother’s friend told me I would someday be a writer. I laughed a lot because I always thought writing books was reserved for scholarly people, but I was wrong. So, without knowing it, from a very young age, I was inspired by musicians and friends who were close to one of my favourite writers, Gabo (Gabriel García Márquez - novelist, writer, copywriter, screenwriter, journalist - Nobel Prize for Literature 1982). And so, here my story begins.

Hi! I’m Victor Barrera-Søndergaard, a proud Mexican Copywriter and Creative Director living on a tiny island in the south of Denmark, not so far away from the former house of Hans Christian Andersen, and working in one of the most magical and fascinating cities in the world, Copenhagen.

I love playing with words, writing, directing, and producing entertaining ideas that generate content. I'm a digital native with strong skills in creativity, copywriting, concept development, storytelling, story-doing, creative strategy, content writing, experiential, innovation, prompt generation, user interface copy (UI), human-computer interaction (HCI), user experience (UX), user-centred design (UCD), digital design, art direction, photography, film production, pitching, team management, and business communication.

Full-stack creative who has worked in advertising for the last ten years, developing liquid ideas and 360º marketing campaigns for brands such as Volvo, Volkswagen, Mazda, PlayStation, Nutella, Adidas, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Walmart, Danonino, Activia, Neutrogena, Gandhi Bookstores, BBVA, OXFAM, Save the Children, Amnesty International, among other, and all these years of experience in communication firmly made me believe that an idea can come from anywhere and make a big difference in the world. So, let's brainstorm and come up with new ideas together.

With a high professional education in six different countries (Mexico, Cuba, England, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden), I have developed a broad multicultural perspective through learning and life experiences that have turned me into the person I am today: a prudent, respectful, open-minded, kind, and good teammate.

In my spare time, you can find me running through the forest, writing on my blog, posting on Instagram, learning new languages on Duolingo, reading about technology, tweeting about life, watching documentaries on Netflix, or listening to Brit-pop bands.

My lucky day. Today.
